In the depth of the night I wander alone,

Lost in a world that is not quite my own.

Haunted by memories of a painful past,

Repressed and hidden, they're meant to last.

My dreams are a refuge from this lonely place,

A sanctuary where I can hide my face.

But even there the pain remains,

A needle in my heart that still stings and lingers.
